Chicks to Chickens

I am hopefully in catch up mode. . . with the spring, final days of school, a few 'longer' trips, building of a coop, planting a garden, and other activities that are now behind us there will hopefully be some photos and documentation making its way to our blog. The photos that are here today are ones that were taken as we welcomed our hatchlings into the world. After waiting 21 days we were able to see the efforts of our daily labor and waiting as the chicks emerged from their shells one at a time.
We were all amazed at the miracle of life that we were able to witness first hand and enjoyed very much the early days with our 'fuzzy' new pets. All 8 that hatched are still with us today though they are now about 7 weeks old and looking a good deal like chickens and not a bit like the chicks in these photos.
Jeremy rigged this tote with a 'window' so they could be enjoyed by all through out the day and would not be 'spooked' by us 'swooping' down on them from above to check their progress. That's all for this evening I pray you are able to take a moment this coming holiday weekend and marvel at the wonder of creation that surrounds each of us on a daily basis! Happy 4th!
