Waiting

In a few more days we will hopefully be the stewards of about a dozen chicks. We are more than half way through the incubating time necessary to hatch out some little biddies of our own. So twice a day we check the temp., add water if needed, and rotate our dozen eggs. The rental of the incubator came with a variety of eggs so we will hopefully see in a few days what our little brood is made up of.
I think that Mabri is not quite sure that there will be chicks coming out of these eggs but she along with the other kids is curiously awaiting the hatch date this coming week. There is something going on inside of the eggs as now when we 'flip' them they want to roll back and you can feel the weigh change that is affecting how they lay in the incubator.
This coming week we will hopefully see what 20+ days of 98* temps. will do for this miracle of creation!
