This is the first installment of hopefully several more on the changes that some of the rooms in this old house have undergone. One of the rooms that has changed the most is the Girl's Bedroom. There was wallpaper to strip, carpet to remove and many coats of paint to be applied. The following two photos are a glimps of the before state of the room.
And now the much awaited after photos!
I let Kiera choose the color (which I was sure would be pink but she opted for yellow and it turned out so pretty!) The carpet that was in the room was merely tacked down so there was not too much effort put into removing that and underneath were painted hardwood floors that we freshened up with a new coat of paint.
Thank you to all that were able to put in a few hours here and there or contributed some of the furniture to complete this space. The room is a good size and it has already been enjoyed with several tea parties, 'school' sessions, dress-up events, and playing 'church'.
Oh, and I forgot to mention many many stories read in these cheerful quarters!

It looks beautiful Bethy, you did a wonderful job; so bright and cheery! So fun to see the before and after pictures too. The wallpaper was just a wee bit dirty, eh? Those floors too...SO much better with the painted hardwood. All in all, such a lovely girls room!
Looking forward to your next post, as always!

Lisa

Looks great, Bethy. I agree with Leah regarding the bright & cherry. Just what every little girl needs. Kiera picked her Mom's color!! Sweet girl. I too love the curtains. Love you & hope to see you soon.
