We are off. . . this has been a while in coming as we are normally about half way down the trail before I remember that I forgot to bring along my camera once again. This time I grabbed it in the nick of time so join us as we get in a quick bit of fresh air and some winter fun.
This is how it normally goes. . . once naps have passed we get out the door as quickly as possible which does take some time as there are diapers to pack, EVERYone's snow gear, the dog, water, and on this particular day the camera:-)
Generally we head over to my folks house as Matthias is still a wee thing and is good company for the Grandparent's while the rest of the family gets into their snowshoes (or sled as is the case with Mabri).
All geared up an off we go! Over the knoll and into the woods!
I really do LOVE snowshoeing as there is little more than these 'rackets' to strap onto your feet the you are free to roam at will. The kids of coarse love to go off the trail but as the winter has progressed they are finding that there is a good reason we have been following the same route for our bi-weekly walks.
Crunch, crunch. . . with the weather the past week or so there has been quite a crust developing on the snow but there have been a few times when we have gone out and there is that 'hush' that comes when the woods are snow covered and you are treading on a powder of fresh flakes!
I think that Charlie lives for these walks. . . he really comes alive (as you can see) when we all get geared up and he is just free to move at will. And the rosy glow that the kids take on just puts everyone in good spirits or perhaps it is the playfulness that seems to be linked with SNOW?
I know that it looks as though the snowshoes really could be more for show and not necessary. . . well, to dis-spell that myth take a peek at the photo below of Jeremy helping Jonas back up after he 'sat' off the trail:-)
There you have it 25 minutes of winter fun with the Everson!

Bethy,
Lisa
p.s. I LOVE the rosy cheeks!
Oh how fun, I felt like I was there with you:) way to go mamma Eves!
