I think that in the past few months (about 6 to be exact) we have put in about a lifetimes worth of travel. . .and most of it driving. This past week Jeremy, myself, Kiera and Matthias returned from what may be out last trip to 'Coralandia' for a while. Over the past few months there have been many things that the Lord has been teaching us (as always but in some larger life changing areas) over the next few weeks I will try to share some of the ways that the Lord has been manifesting Himself in our lives. But for now I will just include some photos of our trip and a few tidbits from our week down in Nayarit. To start the photo above is of two Cora ladies in traditional attire walking on the 'cobbled' streets of the pueblo.
The drive took about 16ish hours, so a very looong day in the vehicle but Kiera and the baby both did very well. . . adults too. For about three hours of our trip we were crossing the Sierra Madre Mountains which included some of the most breath taking 'vistas' in North America!
Here is Kiera taking a few quiet moments in the hammock as everything was winding up for the day (it was a neat dynamic to have just her with us and she was a big help playing with our partners children during some of the meetings).
Above is Chilo and Chava in a discussion of some depth after a morning in the Cora village. There is a 'church' that meets on a biweekly basis but the teaching is only done in Spanish thus the needs of only a small percentage of the village are being met. Please continue to pray for the three families that are in active language learning that they would have endurance, wisdom, and guidance from the Lord as they move forward in this task.
Matthias was a very good baby through the busy days. . . though now he is fighting a cold so that is a matter of prayer at the moment as most of our family has a 'bug' of sorts.
Here we are as a group (though missing Juan's wife and including Dorr as it was a consultant trip that we were a part of). The heat and humidity has cleared up in the state so them mornings are brisk and provide quite a relief for the team.
For several of our meals we joined Chilo and Nohemi dinning under their bouganvilla vines. Our times visiting with team mates there was a joy and having the opportunity to see them in their homes. We are thankful for the first hand experience of their day to day victories and trials that we gained during our time there so as to better keep them before the Lord in prayer and hopefully continue to be an aid to them in tangible ways.
The Lord has used our time in Mexico to teach us in innumerable ways more aspects of His character, His love for all peoples of the world, and of His personal interest in our lives. At this point in time I am still a bit overwhelmed with all that the Lord is doing in us, He is such a loving Master and Guide through what ever He brings across our paths. Though there are many many hard things about this time of transition we are thankful that through the pain of redirection we are able to walk in peace knowing that He is a loving and kind Shepherd!
