As we are waiting here in Chihuahua City for the time being we have taken this opportunity to get out a little and see some of the things that we have enjoyed in the past but with the twist this time of showing Leah (Beth's sister) around the area.
This morning we took a little hike up a hill on the edge of town that we used to be able to see from our old home. The above picture are of Jeremy, Jonas and Mabri on the way up. . . then the second photo is of Leah and myself once we reached the top and the view on the other side.
Mabri did great, she made the whole hike up on her own two feet, and enjoyed the ride down on Daddy's sholders :-)
This was Matthias first hike, he slept the whole way up and giggled at the view on the way down!
There was one new addition since our last hike, the locals have put a shrine of sorts on at the peak. We are not sure exactly why and for what purpose but it was another reminder to us that though things may seem very western on the outside there still remains a deep root in the culture surrounding us that has no true hope of eternity and what it is to walk in peace with the Lord here and now.
