Descada

This past week we were able to visit with some very dear friends of ours and they treated us to some delicious Mexican foods (como siempre. . . like always).
A meal that is very common here for larger get togethers is called descada and it is a mixture of meats that are cooked in a . . .disco (as seen in the photo above). All of this takes place out of doors and then the meat mixture is served in small 6" corn tortillas with what ever 'salsa' you would like. The salsa's here are not what the American would think . . .they are more of a sauce not the chunky tomato condiment that you find in US grocery stores.
It was a treat to touch base with Caleb, Rosario and their kids. Also, this week we have been able to get most of the foot work finished to send in our visa renewal papers. Depending on many things the visas should take about two weeks to receive in hand at which point we will pack up and continue the move south to join the rest of our team in work among the Cora.
